Jesus preached to souls in prison, a level of hell
1 Peter 3:19 “By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;”
(Acts chapter 2 is Luke writing about the prophet David, clarifying that David (in Psalm 16:10) was prophesying of Jesus when he said "thou wilt not leave my soul in hell"
Acts chapter 2:29Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
*31He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

 (prison is not paradise)
Jonah 2:2 “And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.”
Matthew 12:39“But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”

Three Days In Hosea Chapter 6 and The Other Man On The Cross Going To Paradise "That Day" Proof Jesus DID enter Hell (as He holds the keys to Hell and Death, making Him the warden of Hell aka prison)
Hosea 6:2 “After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.”
Luke 23:43 “And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
1 Peter 3:19 “By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;”
2 Peter 3:8 “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
Hosea, written in approximately 922BC unto the death of Jesus would be the first day.
The second day would be when Jesus ascends into Heaven unto the second thousand years.
The third day would be when we are "raised up to live in His sight"  (Hosea 6:2) which would be the third thousand years. (AKA the second thousand years mentioned in Revelation chapter 20

Revelation 20:5 “But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.”
This is why Jesus said the other man on the cross would be with Him in paradise that day even though Jesus went into the "heart of the Earth" (HELL) for the three days of His death.
Matthew 12:40 “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”
This is how we know paradise mentioned in Luke 16:22, where Abraham was and Lazarus was seen in "his bosom (aka his embrace, or his chest) (Luke 16:23)
Luke 16:22-23:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom
2 Corinthians 12:4 “How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.”
This means that Heaven was visible to those in Hell across the "far off" (space) between them.

Psalms 16:7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
8I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

1 Peter chapter 3
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
21The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
