Creation, A Day For God Is A Thousand Years

This verse is referring to the flood and declares what a day is to God:

2 Peter 3:8
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

When God separated the light from the darkness, He was separating good and evil.

1 Thessalonians 5:5
“Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.”

Genesis 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

A day to us was not defined until the sun was created. We use the sun and moon to determine our days and calendar:

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
